Nestled in the broad extended valley of the Upper Salzach, the green and gentle slate mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps the north and the rugged 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park to the south, the town of Mittersill, is an ideal starting points for excursions to explore the diverse landscapes of the Oberpinzgau region.

Whether you conquer the peaks by bike or on your own two feet, discover our pristine countryside while out on a Nordic Walking tour, or wish to tame the Salzach and an array of wild gorges as part of a rafting or canyoning adventure, there are so many ways to acquaint yourself with the beauty of this part of the world. When set against this splendid natural backdrop, other sports, such as golf, horseback riding and fishing, also become an unforgettable experience.

During winter, Mittersill forms a joint skiing region with Stuhlfelden and Hollersbach and is also linked to the well known skiing area Kirchberg-Kitzbühel.
